The easiest homemade pizza from scratch
The best homemade pizza. Completely delicious!!! Egg free, contains yeast but don't be intimated by that ingredient, it just has to be mixed through the dry ingredients.
Try it out friends. You won't want to order pizza again, except of course on those days when you're not in the mood to cook and that is TOTALLY acceptable
2 cups maida
1/2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon instant yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
3/4 cup warm water
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, yeast and sugar and stir well to combine
Drizzle over the olive oil and incorporate
Meanwhile make well in the center of this mixture and pour the water in in 2 installments and using a fork pull the flour into the water until all the flour is incorporated
The dough will be really sticky at this point
Take the dough out of the bowl and place on a lightly floured surface, dust your hands with flour and knead lightly for 5 to 7 minutes until soft, elastic and springs back when touched.
Place the dough ball in a floured bowl, covered with a damp cloth, in a warm room for about 2 hours. It will double in size
After this stage, you can either attempt to flip the dough to thin it out or simply roll it as thick or thin as you would like
Preheat the oven to 180 C
Add pasta sauce, either red or white, to the base toppings of your choice and lots of mozzarella
My favorite toppings to use are spicy chicken sausage, mushrooms, spinach for that gorgeous green or just garlic, onion and cheese. Bellisimo!!
Bake for around 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of your pizza is and how thick the crust is
