Christmasy Chocolate Tart - A Decadent Dessert

Christmas chocolate tart

Taking a bite into this is like a celebration all in itself! It is so rich and I couldn't stop at just one slice. It is a decadent dessert I hope you will include on your Christmas table this year!! Ingredients For the crust 180 gm flour 1/2 tsp salt 50 gm cup butter 50 gm powdered sugar 1 egg or 2 tbsp fresh cream 1 tsp vanilla extract For the filling 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup chocolate 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup castor sugar 1 tbsp cornstarch 2 tbsp cocoa powder 1/2 tsp salt 3 tbsp heavy cream 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method For the crust Whisk the egg and butter together until creamy Add in the sugar and mix again Now fold in the dry ingredients until it comes together as a dough Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for an hour Roll it out between 2 sheets of baking paper (for the lease amount of mess!) And place gently into a pie tin. Trim off the edges and poke holes into the pie crust with a fork Bake at 180 C for 20 minutes

Melt the butter and chocolate over a double boiler Once melted and slightly cool, add the sugars and mix To this, add the eggs one by one, the cream and the vanilla extract. Mix Lastly add in the cornstarch, salt and cocoa powder You will have a georgous thick brownie like batter Put this into the pre baked pie crust and bake again for 25 to 30 minutes at 180 C
